• Projects covered by the city's construction and demolition recycling chapter (12.48) have a 7-day waiting period between application and permit issuance, to allow for salvaging.
• A J-number from the Bay Area Air District is needed before the permit is issued.
• A PG&E letter is needed showing the gas meter is removed, the gas line is capped at the property line and the electric service drop is disconnected.
• The demolition permit does not cover grading, excavation or new construction. It must have a final inspection before later construction permits are issued.
• Removing a heritage tree needs its own permit. If an arborist report was required, the arborist confirms tree protection in writing first.
