We handle permitted pool removals in the South Bay. Our lot clearing job next to Levi's Stadium is next door in Santa Clara.

San Jose requires a building permit before a pool or spa comes out. We walk you through it, break out the shell and fill the yard back in.
House demolition
Houses, detached garages and ADUs down, foundations out, lot graded.
Concrete removal
Driveways, patios, garage slabs and foundations broken out and trucked away.
Interior demolition
Kitchens, baths, closets and whole floors down to the studs.
Permits in San Jose
What the city
asks for.
These points come from the City of San José Permit Center's Demolitions and Swimming Pool Demolition pages.
From the Permit Center
- A building permit is required for the full or partial demolition of a building.
- A shed, detached garage or other accessory structure over 120 square feet needs a permit to remove. At 120 square feet or less, it does not.
- A building permit is required before removing or abandoning a swimming pool or spa.
- A BAAQMD job number is required with the application, whether or not the project involves asbestos.
- A PCBs Screening Assessment Form goes in with every demolition application. Wood-framed buildings and single-family homes are exempt from testing, but the form is still required.
- If the old footprint will be built on later, the city asks for a demolition, drainage and compaction plan from a licensed engineer.
- Demolition permits carry a refundable Construction and Demolition Diversion Deposit.
How we help
- Tell us at the walk-through whether you plan to build on the spot. It changes what the city asks for.
- We walk you through the permit steps before work goes on the schedule.
- Debris leaves on our own trucks. Teardown and haul-off run on one schedule.
Checked against the city's website in October 2026. Rules and forms change, so confirm with the city before you plan around them.
